Spring
Spring, the season of new life and beginnings. A time of hope and possibilities. This section is given to births, fostering and adoption and new jobs. Poems can be given to new parents, fostered and adopted children and can be used for religious services where thanks are given for the birth and safe delivery of a child.

What a moment! What a day!
One you will remember in every way.
A divine little bundle of joy is now yours
Who to a whole new world opens the door.
Someone so precious, so beautiful, so unique,
Who from you will love, comfort and pleasure seek.
His/her desire is for now to be held secure and tight
And to be loved unquestioningly morning, noon and night.
S/he will bring you immeasurable pleasure and a sense of wonder and awe
That something so beautiful and delightful could ever be yours,
So look at him/her daily with loving eyes and share a parent's smile
For your life together starts here and goes on for many an amazing mile.
Tell him/her you love him/her whatever each day brings
For each word allows his/her heart to deeply and beautifully sing.
Reach out and give him/her in this moment a hug, cuddle and kiss
For every day for him/her should start just like this.
My child I can't change all that you've been through
But I can, from here onwards, walk every step with you
I know there are still many mountains to climb and obstacles along your way
But my promise to you is, while I have breath, I'll be here every single day.
So you're leaving and are off to pastures new
Leaving us behind for opportunities different and fresh too
And although we will miss you more than words can say
We wish you joy and happiness on your new chosen pathway.
We hope your new role brings you pleasure and a sense of pride
And your integrity and conscience continue to act as your guide
Enjoy what the future holds and we hope you settle in well
And keep in contact so to us, of your progress, you can tell.
We have seen much of life and so pray this blessing over you
As you start out on your pathway both bright and new.
We pray for health to help you grow throughout your life, well and strong
So that you may live happily and enjoy a lifetime that is blessed and long.
I never expected I could ever feel this way
As you entered my world and announced I'm here to stay.
My little person so perfect, so amazing, so complete
From the hair on your head to the little pink toes on your feet.
I can't stop thinking what a miracle you are
And can't take my eyes off you, who has already become my little star.
I count my blessings that you are now here and completely mine
And I promise I am here to make sure all is fine.
I will do all in my power to provide everything you need
From your bottle to warmth, to a hug, to your feed.
I just can't believe how my heart pours out with unbelievable love
As your tiny hand clasps around my finger like the silk of a glove.
Your today is, and your tomorrow will be, my primary care
And I promise your burdens, hopes, fears and dreams I will help you bear.
For you have returned to me a laughing spirit and bought a twinkle to my eye
And have become the answer to my every question - who, when, where, what, how and why?
Such beauty, such joy, such love divine,
Reflected in the eyes of the new born you call 'mine'.
Such wonder, such overflowing joy, such amazing peace,
In the moments after the trauma of birth has ceased.
For here is the true gift of life nestled in your arms,
The one you are to protect and keep safe from harm.
Helpless is the babe you cradle and keep snug,
The child already warmed and touched by your tender hug.
Those minute fingers clinging onto yours to reassure that in this new world (s)he belongs,
Ears listening for the sound of your love's lullaby songs.
A gift of such value you now must treasure,
So that what you give will bring her/him immeasurable pleasure.
So now we offer up a prayer for this child of yours,
That hers/his will be a life which causes your spirit(s) to soar.
And that you will have the wisdom to bring her/him up well
So that of your goodness (s)he will forever tell.
