This site has been born out of a love of poetry and a desire to share that love. It began in 2004 with a poem for my mother-in-law's funeral. The response was touching and encouraging. Other funerals meant more poems and positive feedback. Then a seed of an idea for a collection of poems for the key moments in life, to be categorised into seasons, hence the title Seasons of Life. But like life itself the path to this website has been long and winding with long gaps between inspirations, opportunities to write and solitude to focus but it is at least now at a point where there is content.
The aim is to provide words for those who are looking for a way to express what they feel at key events in life (e.g. births, weddings, anniversaries, funerals) but do not want to use those traditionally used and cannot find their own words to express their feelings. I have tried to capture the feelings and emotions of events and seen them from different perspectives. If you find a poem that captures the moment for you then feel free to copy it but please respect the efforts and energy I have put into the writing and acknowledge Lorna Beedham as its author.
In time I hope to add more poems as circumstances allow and ideas come to mind so please do visit again.
